Therapeutic crafting
Crafting for mental health
Craft therapy, often referred to as art therapy or creative therapy, is a therapeutic approach that harnesses the healing power of artistic and creative expression to promote mental and emotional well-being. Taking part in various crafts, such as painting, sculpting, knitting, or even coloring, can have profound positive effects on your mental health by providing a safe and non-verbal outlet for you to explore and communicate thoughts and emotions. At Honeybee Cottage we provide engaging creative activities that can reduce stress and anxiety, focusing the mind on the present moment and fostering a state of mindfulness. When learning a new skill with us, we offer follow up sessions to support you in achieving that sense of accomplishment that comes from creating something tangible, helping to boost self-esteem and provide a sense of purpose. Crafting in one of our group classes can also enhance social connections and combat feelings of isolation, fostering a sense of belonging and support.
